The Times of India reports Keira Knightley admitted rather honestly that she would have been hoping against hope if she thought that she stood a chance of winning the Oscar for her role in the film Pride & Prejudice .
Knightley had shocked the film industry, when at the tender age of 20; she was nominated for the prestigious award.

KNIGHTLEY MAKES MOST OF FLOP

ContactMusic reports KEIRA KNIGHTLEY is grateful for her role in critically-panned thriller DOMINO, because the movie toughened her up. The PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN star played the late daughter of actor LAURENCE HARVEY, a former Ford model who rejected her privileged Beverly Hills life to become a bounty hunter.
While Knightley admits the film didn't help her career, she has benefitted on a personal level despite the lukewarm reception by critics. Knightley tells British movie magazine Hotdog, "It was really sad because I thought it was a really in-your-face kind of film about this young woman who was tough as hell.
"I have no regrets about playing Domino, because getting inside her head helped toughen me up and made me less of a 'fraidy-cat', which I can be sometimes."

Yahoo! India News reports, despite praising her acting credentials in the movie version of Jane Austen's best seller, theatre mogul Sir Trevor Nunn has not offered actress Keira Knightley a role in either a film or play in cockney classic My Fair Lady.
The acclaimed director insisted he was perfectly happy with his present leading ladies.

Hollywood.com reports british actress Keira Knightley is the latest convert to Madonna's mystical Jewish faith, Kabbalah.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star has been snapped wearing a red string bracelet--used by followers to protect them from the evil eye.
She follows a long list of celebrity Kabbalahists including Demi Moore, Elizabeth Taylor and Stella McCartney.

Eva Longoria tops Maxim's seventh annual "Hot 100" list of the most successful women in film, TV, music, sports and fashion for the second year in a row.
The "Desperate Housewives" actress told The Associated Press that her repeat selection for the No. 1 spot was a shock.
"I was actually really shocked last year when I made the list," said the 31-year-old Longoria, who ranked No. 91 on the 2004 roster.

Keira Knightley has donated the Vera Wang gown she wore to this year's Oscars to raise money for Oxfam's relief work in East Africa.
The burgundy silk-taffeta one-shoulder gown, which was custom-made for the 21-year-old actress, will be up for bid on the eBay auction Web site from April 21 to April 30.
