Knightley to star in Dylan film

Keira Knightley and Lindsay Lohan are set to star in a film about the tangled relationships of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, according to producers.
The Hollywood actresses have signed on for the film, which centres on events in New Quay in mid Wales in 1945.
Teen idol Lohan will play Thomas' wife Caitlin while Pirates of the Caribbean star Knightley will portray his childhood friend Vera Phillips.

BBC News reports that talent scouts are looking for a parrot to star in Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End alongside Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom.

Arrrgh there, matey. 'Tis pirates that will roam the streets this Halloween.
That's because the year's top-grossing film (bringing in more than $1 billion worldwide) is also making a splash in costume shops and Halloween aisles.
"Pirates are the number one costume — it's off the top," said Jacline Lown-Peters, owner of Tucson's Lown's Costumes & Novelties. "We're doing good with pirates." The same is true around the country, it seems.
"The hottest thing right now is pirates," agreed Margarita Applebaum, manager of the Halloween USA store in Royal Oak, Mich., where's she's struggling to keep up with all the demand for pirate gear.
Call it the Keira Knightley effect, but pirate garb isn't just for guys anymore.

Keira Knightley is set to star in a film written by her mother - who fortunately, is respected playwright Sharman Macdonald.
Keira will star in The Best Time Of Our Lives, a film based on a screenplay written by Sharman, according to Production Weekly.
It reports that John Maybury, who worked with the actress in The Jacket, will direct the film.

Curvy Kelly Brook is the woman we would most like to see on the catwalk, according to a new survey.
As the debate over size zero models rages on, a poll revealed that the majority of peoople would prefer to see fashions modelled by fuller figured celebrities. Brook, famed for her voluptuous curves, was top choice.
Actress Kate Winslet came second, followed by Charlotte Church and Coleen McLoughlin. Ultra-skinny Victoria Beckham was bottom of the poll. Original supermodel Cindy Crawford was fifth, just ahead of TV chef Nigella Lawson. Doctor Who star Billie Piper also made the top 10.

Actress Keira Knightley has beaten out Scarlett Johansson and Judy Garland to land the honor of being the greatest Hollywood starlet at 21 years of age.
Garland, the star of "The Wizard Of Oz," came in second and Johansson, who is also 21, came in third, Life Style Extra reported Tuesday.
A spokeswoman for the poll conducted by Yahoo!.com, said, "A starlet is an actress who people instantly think of as being young, vivacious, stylish, popular and, most of all, talented." ... Read More ...

Pirates DVD Sets Sail on December 5

CommingSoon reports that Buena Vista Home Entertainment will release Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, starring Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and Bill Nighy, on both single and two-disc collector's editions December 5.
The single-disc edition will include a pair of writer commentary tracks and 'Bloopers of the Caribbean.' The collector's edition touts 8 hours of material (film included) and should consist of the extras available on the single-disc edition along with a plethora of featurettes, a look at pirate lore and more.
"Dead Man's Chest" has earned $923.8 million worldwide.

Keira Knightley film crew at Walpole

HOLLYWOOD has come to West Norfolk in the shape of a film crew who are shooting scenes at a farm in Walpole St Andrew.
The team is there recreating parts of Ian McEwan's novel Atonement for a new film starring actress Keira Knightley, of Pirates of the Caribbean fame.
The book deals with the horrors of the Second World War, and an old orchard on land owned by David Harpley is being used for a scene in which a soldier walks through it.
Farmer Michael Human (59) said the team was storing trailers and equipment on land he rents from Mr Harpley.

Town transformed for new Keira film

The cameras have been rolling as a blockbuster movie crew transformed an English town into wartime Dunkirk.
A stretch of Redcar promenade, in Cleveland, has been taken over by producers of the new Keira Knightley film of Ian McEwan's hit novel Atonement.
A facade of bombed out buildings has been created on the seafront, while bomb craters have been made on the beach.
Rubble and debris was strewn across the promenade which has been closed to the public while filming takes place.
